In 2008, Razor Reef Surfboards of San Clemente, California designed the FrankenStrat, dimensionalizing high performance surfing in small waves. It includes a 2-stage rocker and added spiral vee starting in front of the fins to allow for rail-to-rail quickness. This design makes the FrankenStrat an all around go to shortboard for small to head high plus waves. This board was re-named as the FrankenStrat and designed specifically for team rider Jake Shiroke of San Clemente. Jake use this board to surf the local beach breaks at Trestles, T-Street, and San Onofre.
